Science Study Tips

Do you feel you stay up late at night studying but not recalling the information?

Do you think your science grade could be better but don’t know how?

This article discusses three tips to add when studying science.

Tip 1: Create Labels to section notes based on content

Labels are a helpful way to organize notes in sections. Creating labels allows you to bookmark the concepts based on your confidence level. The photo below shows a list of science topics plus ways to organize the information.

Tip 2: Flash Cards

Flashcards are helpful to identifying concepts you need more support learning. The best way to use flashcards is to write the information you tend to forget.

Here are some tips to use when creating flashcards.

  1. Never write only the definition of the word.

  2. Include location, function, structure, and extra description surrounding the concept your learning

Below, I included a sample index card that breaks down different key terms when designing an index card.

Tip 3: Connect the concepts to real life

Science contains lots of information which can be stressful. A way to remember the science concept is to use real-life examples that connect to the material.
